Way to go, Heather! がんばって！

As you master more kanji, look in your kanji dictionary for compounds made from combinations of the kanji you've studied, That way, you can increase your vocab and see more examples of your kanji in use. While you're at it, you can put those compounds into your VOLATS... (Can't resist it, can I?)

@scott
too bad you couldn't take both of the tests. you know, just take the level 4 'as a back up'. ;)

@scpakr

がんばって！ Just from the few sample pages I can see on the Amazon page, this book looks pretty similar to the Japanese For Everyone: Kanji Workbook that I'll be getting back to; it seems like a sensible format. I think your teacher is on the right track: having a goal, something to focus on, will help motivation and dedication. At least that's what I figure should happen, having personal experience with the opposite technique! ^_^

I've mentioned before that my little brother lives in Sendai and that he took( and feels he passed ) the JLPT Level 3 exam last December. Well, while visiting him last year, I sat in his living room and flipped through that very book. He said it's a great resource and I'd meant to track it down and find a copy for myself!

I'm planning to take the JLPT next year. If I really work my tail off and feel confident, maybe I'll try for the 3rd level. If not, I'll sit for the 4th and hope and pray I pass it. Good luck!
